"Music is synonym of freedom, of playing what you want and how you want, as long as it's good and made with passion. Let music be love's food."
Kurt Cobain (1967-1994)

Reivindicar(se) (Johnny Marr - The Right Thing Right)

CLXVII
"Here is the start, just gotta lit,
On the right seem right, we gonna right it.
Hear me, the wonder of it,
On the right seem right, I'm on the right thing."

Rock on!

Life often reminds us, in the best or worst of the ways, that nothing is certain, that you can't take anything for granted and that credit is not endless. It seems incredible that we often seem to have to always be starting over, as if all the effort of past years had been useless. When we think we've reached a certain status, there comes a crisis, an unexpected event, a tsunami, and we have to rethink ourselves, maybe for the seventh time. At some point then, we should be able to talk face to face to life and tell it that it is about time that the world knew you also live in it. Self-vindication, they call it.

Johnny Marr had a clear mind about vindication. Nothing better than a great album like The Messenger to claim for recognition and say 'here I am' in the best way he knows. I didn't use to sing? Now I sing alone. I always was in the background? So, let's go forth. The mainstream media will still be in the clouds playing the latest Pitbull or Jennifer Lopez's hit, but we know who to claim, and is The Smiths' guitar player. Tired of being in the shade in projects such as Electronic, Modest Mouse and The Cribbs, Johnny picked up his guitar and stood face to face with those who may never have valued his talent enough. Also, I think he is doing the right thing.

Claiming as we are, this is a good opportunity to announce, as in the chorus of the song today, the start of a new stage. What You're Missing goes on air with a radio show through radiorockin.com. The initiative launched by Phil, the webmaster at rockinandblogin.com, is moving forward. Every Monday at 22 pm (Spanish time) you will listen to music that is not often heard unless it is looked for. We want to spread the motto of the blog: "you never know what you're missing 'til you try". If you are a restless spirit and are not happy with what they say you have to like, this is your show. Rock on!
